Electric Vehicle (EV)

Macao Electric Vehicles Charging Stations Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of CEM Electric Vehicles (EV) Charging Stations in Macao and constitute the legal agreement between the users of EV Charging Stations (users) and Companhia de Electricidade de Macau - CEM, S.A. (CEM).

These Terms and Conditions as well as the privacy policy (https://www.cem-macau.com/en/privacy-statement/ )have been acknowledged and accepted by the users who are using this CEM Service . The users agreed that, from time to time, CEM may unilaterally make amendments of these Terms and Conditions due to operational needs without prior notice of any new amendments.

  1. EV charging stations

Charging stations are provided for EV use in Macao by CEM, with the agreement of MSAR Government.

Charging stations are provided on a self-service mode in the designated parking spaces. While the network is considered as highly stable and reliable, there may be occasions when charging stations may not be available due to maintenance, electrical faults, telecommunication issues, temporary obstructions or any other conditions beyond CEM control, CEM does not need to bear any responsibility for this.

  2. Responsibility

The users are solely responsible for the correct use of EV charging stations, especially for following the “EV charging guidelines (how to charge?)” while using the EV Charging Stations. The users shall ensure that the EV is in safe and suitable condition for use with the EV charging station, that the charging cord for EV charging is not damaged and that it has been safely disconnected and properly stored for not creating a tripping hazard before driving off.

For EV charging stations to remain available to all, users shall vacate the parking space as soon as the charging of the vehicle is completed.

Users must not tamper with EV charging stations or use them in any manner which is unlawful, prohibited by these terms and conditions or in any manner which could damage or impair the correct operation of EV charging stations.

Users shall indemnify CEM for any damage due to or arising out of misuse on the EV charging station. If any third party files a lawsuit or claim due to the user’s improper use of the EV charging stations, the user must bear all the responsibilities and compensate all losses of CEM (including litigation fees and lawyer fees paid by CEM).

CEM shall under no circumstances be responsible or liable for any incidental, direct or indirect damages of any kind, arising out of or in any way related to the use of the EV charging station.

  3. Termination or Cancellation

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. CEM also reserves the right to refuse the use of EV charging stations by any violators.
